Abracadaver is a villain who appears in the episode of the same name, 'Abracadaver'. He, according to the Mayor, was once a magician named Al Lusion who performed magic acts in Townsville's old magic theater.

Biography[]

On one night, during his final performance, Al Lusion asked for assistance from the audience. The Mayor and the rest of the audience raised their hands, but instead, he chose Anne (whom the Mayor himself claimed was as sweet as any of the Powerpuff Girls). Al Lusion asked her to come on stage, and he made her teddy bear vanish into thin air right before her eyes.

The audience applauded Al Lusion for the impressive display. As Al Lusion accepted the applause, he neglected to return the teddy bear to Anne. The girl was so heartbroken without her teddy bear that she pulled Al Lusion's pants down, exposing the objects he used for his "magic" while revealing his underwear. His things fell all over the place as the audience laughed. Al Lusion panicked and tried to retrieve his stuff, only to stumble backwards into an iron maiden.

The audience was stunned when he was killed after it closed on him, silencing the magic forever. The iron maiden itself was never moved from the theater, which was closed and abandoned soon after.

Abracadaver had reanimated as a zombie after a wrecking ball hit the iron maiden during the old theater's demolition as ordered by the Mayor. He used magic tricks to attack the people of Townsville as revenge for being laughed at in his final performance, then the girls came to fight him. In the fight, he mistakes Blossom for the girl who was indirectly responsible for his death. He pulls out a pocket watch and hypnotizes Blossom before performing a rolled-up scarf trick on her to ensnare her before he puts her onto the path of the same coffin that killed him before, sealing the Powerpuff inside. At first, it seemed that Blossom had met her end at the magician's hands, but it is revealed that Abracadaver was actually Blossom in disguise and vice versa.

Profile[]

Personality[]

During his life, Al Lusion was a talented entertainer. He appeared rather receptive to applause as he forgot to return Anne's teddy bear while he was bowing to the audience.

After coming back to life, Abracadaver became a vengeful undead who blamed all of Townsville for his death.

Voice[]

Abracadaver was voiced by Frank Welker in a Russian accent.

Abilities[]

During his life, Al Lusion, while a very talented magician, had his magic come from slights of hand and the use of illusions.

As Abracadaver, his stage tricks were replaced by genuine magic. He also displays the ability to hypnotize others.

Trivia[]

  • His former name Al Lusion is a pun of "allusion" and "illusion", while his new name is a pun on "Abracadabra" and "cadaver", which refers to a corpse.
  • He can be spotted briefly twice during the opening sequence: At first at the very right of the panning gallery of villains, and also in the pile of defeated villains at the end.
    • These appearances predate his official debut by nine episodes.
  • In terms of his physiology, Abracadaver is a Lich, an undead being that originates from Russian folklore. However, he is also in a way similar to Revenants, which are also undead beings but come from European folklore. Sometimes Revenants can be ghosts, while at other times zombies, but what is focused on more is that they reanimate back to life for vengeance until certain conditions are met. There is one reason on why they want to exact revenge, and that is people having wronged them or outright murdered them, which is the exact same goal that Abracadaver really wanted ever since the people had laughed at him in the first place.
  • Due to his grisly appearance and backstory, and the disturbing atmosphere he provides in his titular episode, Abracadaver is often considered as one of the darkest villains in the original series.
