The Squashening is the thirty-third episode of the 2016 Powerpuff Girls series. It was first aired on the Cartoon Network app/website on October 21, 2016 and it aired on Cartoon Network in the US on October 27, 2016.
This centers around the girls.
Synopsis
It's Halloween and the girls are out Trick or Treating. They decide to hit up one more house but find that it's the home to a giant living Squash who's angry that they (or rather, Buttercup) tried to grab more then one candy from his bowl. Threatening to squeeze them to death, the girls offer to tell him three stories which he'll let them go if he finds them scary.

- This was the first Halloween episode of the series and of the franchise, since the 1998 series didn't have a Halloween episode.
- This episode aired on Cartoon Network Philippines on October 30th.
- Buttercup's scary stories was a reference of The Walking Dead. Also, "Night of the Living Bread" was an obvious parody of the 1968 science fiction/drama film Night of the Living Dead.
- Blossom's scary story were a reference to the book and the film franchise, Frankenstein.
- Bubbles' puppy form is different from her original 1998 counterpart in "Monkey See, Doggie Do".
