This was... huh... SOMETHING. The entire thing felt like one big My Little Pony joke, especially with Blossom and Buttercup's back-and-forth about horse terminology. The introduction of all the unicorns at the end was random but a little bit funny with how self-aware it was about its randomness. Bubbles was cute too, and Donny's character made for some laughs here and there.
You know what this kinda reminded me of? Bubbles' relationship with Cody/Takaaki in the Powerpuff Girls anime -- another situation in which a close friend of Bubbles' is turned into a monster. Weird. :P
Apparently this episode has been stated as the most transphobic episode in cartoon history. At least I recall reading that somewhere. And I've also been searching for hours for just that article to no avail, oh well. Others have more of a say in this than I do, so I thought I'd share some articles. And only as a formal warning I will say that most of the articles contain profane language in case you were expecting them not to.
First of a debunking of the episode from Jitterbug (just scroll down a bit):

Another person called Delia also had a say about it. A very emotional say.
A person, Rockbusted, decided to take matters into his own heart (I originally intended to write hands, but heart is fine) and rewrote the script. I will also say that I am a lot more used to this kind of personality associated with Bubbles:

I found these, or rather, where I found them originated from this article:

It turns out I was wrong. All articles contail at least a little dash of profane language.
I Liked It Better Than The Other Two Episodes With Donny
